Regency Cut Glass Lidded Pedestal Jar

About the Item

A very fine antique cut glass jar with matching cover dating from around 1825. The jar stands on a thick round star cut based foot with a round bulbous body with diamond and prism cut patterning with an ornate cut glass petal rim with a cover of similar design with diamond and prism cut elements and with a raised star cut mushroom finial. A stunning example and part of a small collection of similar period glass originating from an estate in Mayfair, London. The glass is typically not marked. A stunning and finely made display piece which appears to have spent much of its life displayed in a glass display cabinet. Provenance: originates from a private collection from a house in Mayfair, London. In good condition with wear associated with age and use but no obvious defects.
