Salviati Attributed Murano Ruby Glass Dolphin Stem Candlestick
About the Item
A fine stylish vintage Italian, Murano ruby glass candlestick with a dolphin stem attributed to Salviati and probably dating between 1930 and 1950. The hand blown candlestick has a rounded ruby red glass foot with a large hollow blown leaping dolphin shaped stem applied with coloured glass eyes with the clear glass body with gold aventurine inclusions and supporting a ruby red glass candle holder with clear glass drip tray. The candlestick is not marked but the style and design is typical of the pieces being produced by Salviati. A wonderful and stylish display piece to add to any serious glass collection.
Provenance: Acquired in the UK Art Market.
In good condition with a few natural roughs in the making.
