Extremely Rare Pair of Sugar Tongs Modelled as a Pair of Fire Irons

About the Item

The Tongs are beautifully modelled as a pair of early fire irons engraved with early Eighteenth century designs and displaying shell grips. The top of the arch displays a rare "Boy and Barrel" finial. A very rare design made by the fine quality flatware maker, Francis Higgins. Length: 6.5 inches, 16.3cm.
