French Terracotta Water Pitcher 'Gargoulette', 19th Century

About the Item

French terracotta water pitcher (Gargoulette), 19th century. A wonderful and rare piece of pottery. The double handled design was for serving water at the table. Traditional mustard yellow glaze on the exterior, paler yellow glaze on the interior.
