Warrilow and Cope, 19th C. English Staffordshire Majolica Country Cottage Jug

About the Item

An English majolica pitcher shaped as a country cottage, by Warrilow & Cope – Wellington Pottery Works, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, circa 1880-1887. Charming in every way, English Ivy grows across the thatched roof, windows and doors are representative of the local architecture. A gnarled branch forms the handle. Majolica glazing in creamy yellow and gray, with a lovely pink interior. Book reference: 'Majolica: A Complete History and Illustrated Survey' - Karmason, Stacke, pg. 126 7 in. L x 4 in. W x 5.5 in. H Very good antique condition. Sits with a slight wobble, displays beautifully.
