Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Pedestal Based Pierced Cake/Cookie Basket/Platter

About the Item

Art Nouveau, sterling silver, pedestal based, cake/cookie platter/basket, Gorham Manufacturing Company, Providence, Rhode Island, year-hallmarked for 1918. Lightly hammered in design and having a lovely, pierced design that is continued on the handle. Top of handle is monogrammed with an interlocking, script monogram that looks as if it is part of the design. Measures 9 1/2 inches diameter x 5 1/2 inches high (to top of handle) x 1 1/4 inches high from bottom of pedestal base to platter itself. Weight 11.710 troy ounces. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
