Louis Philippe Hunting Pattern Tazza

About the Item

A fine pair of Sèvres Tazzas from King Louis Philippe"s Hunting Service mounted on a gilded bronze stand They are 10” in diameter and date from 1839-1847. This is a very nice example of the fine craftsmanship, decorated in arabesques of foliage with animal figures intertwined with vines, separated by oval and diamond shaped cartouches of emblems such as the royal cipher enriched with gilded borders. Fully marked on the underside of both pieces: They carry the orange printed Château de Fontainebleu mark along with crown and wreath. Blue printed "Sevres" stamp revival mark plus 1844 Green printed oval mark with S.72.
