English Rare Creamware Pottery Initialled Fox Head Stirrup Cup

About the Item

A charming and rare antique English creamware pottery fox head stirrup cup probably dating from around 1800. The head has a collar around the opening which has been hand painted with floral designs and with initials G & F, possibly a wedding or engagement gift. The stirrup cup is hand painted in orange fox color glazes with painted highlights to the features. The stirrup cup is marked Sende II to the inside. Provenance: From a collection of early English wears spanning the 18th and early 19th centuries amassed and collected in the 1920/30’s.
