English Creamware Pottery Green Glazed Teapot and Cover, Swinton, Yorkshire

About the Item

English creamware pottery green glazed teapot and cover, Swinton, Yorkshire, circa 1770 The barrel-form creamware teapot is decorated with a dipped green glaze over an impressed overall rouletted design. The spout is plain and the handles are a double-loop reeded design with large molded flower, leaf and grape terminals. The large finial is with a flower head with large leaf terminals. Dimensions: 6 inches high x 8 1/2 inches long x 5 inches diameter Reference: See Rockingham Pottery & Porcelain, 1745-1842, Alwyn Cox & Angela Cox, Appendix II, #15 for the spout and Appendix I, illustration 42 for a similar handle terminal.
