A wonderful large and chunky antique sterling silver pig pincushion.
Well detailed this robust chap is a good size with defined features.
Hailing from the Edwardian era and fully hallmarked for sterling silver, animal themed pincushions were all the rage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and they remain very popular today.
Not just amongst those interested in needle craft but also silver collectors and collectors of animal antiques alike.
This pincushion is fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham assay office, 1906, makers mark for Boots Pure Drug Company (now Boots the Chemist).
Condition:
Good used condition overall, light surface wear commensurate with age, some small dings and knocks, top fabric covering is very worn.
