Art Nouveau Silver Centerpiece with Karyatides and Glass Bowl, Vienna, ca 1900

About the Item

Large centerpiece on a cambered, round, engine-turned base with three equilaterally placed feet decorated with branches, vines and leaves, the base converging in the middle and forming a platform on which three caryatids with flowing clothes stand in front of a column decorated with vine leaves and tendrils, on top the column capital the wide, expansive, oval, cut glass bowl with a rhythmically wavy edge is fastened with a silver rosette screwed on. Hallmarks: Diana's head - Viennese official hallmark 1872 - 1922 for 800 silver Master's sign 'A(x)' - not readable Total dimensions: hight: 29.5 cm / 11.61 in width: 49.5 cm / 19.48 in depth: 31.5 cm / 12.40 in Very well-maintained condition, cleaned and polished, original glass undamaged.
