Magnificent Sterling Silver Vase

About the Item

We are proud to offer you this extraordinary sterling silver vase by Gorham Silversmiths of Providence, Rhode Island. It is from the late 1800’s, 19th century gilded age extravagance. We have never had anything on this scale before; it is a showstopper!! Let’s start on the bottom and work our way up. The base has an octagonal shape and is NOT weighted. There are etched flowers, leaves and swirls all around the base. That same etched work goes all the way up to the top. The body is paneled not plain round complimenting the octagonal base. The rim is fluted and curves out allowing the flowers more space to open. In the very center of the vase is an oval shaped cartouche waiting for a monogram. All the etching on this vase is crisp and in pristine condition. The vase is made for a large space, such as a center hallway or dining room table. Be ready to be blown away by this antique sterling silver vase!
