Sterling Silver Set of 6 Modern Pattern Spoons +Tongs Hallmarked:-Sheffield 1934

About the Item

Sterling silver box of 6 Modern teaspoons + tongs Made in England and with the maker`s mark - EV, for Emile Viner, for Viners Ltd., bath street, Sheffield. A full set of English hallmarks applied by the Sheffield Assay Office. Crown - mark for the Sheffield Assay Office Lion - guaratee mark for sterling silver r - date letter for Sheffield 1934 King`s Head - special mark to celebrate the 25th. anniversary of the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. Most delightful set of small modern teaspoons and non matching tongs. See the thickened rib all round the stems and with an arrow head end - picture 5. The tongs are quite similar, of Old English pattern. All in perfect, unused condition. Contained in a black leatherette box, bedded on black velvet, and the lid lined with white silk - all in very near original condition. Would make a splendid gift Measures: Spoon Length:- 108 millimetres / 4.25 inches. Silver weight:- 85.6 grams / 2.75 ounces.
