Sterling Silver Victorian Box

About the Item

Being offered is a sterling silver (soap) box by Gorham Silversmiths of Providence, Rhode Island. It can be used for jewelry, pills or as a decorative piece but I think it was meant for soaps. It has a Repousse motif; flowers, leaves and swirls all around the body and on the lid. The center of the lid is “clean”, meant for a monogram. There’s a hinge that connects the lid to the box to open. It has old-world beauty from the Victorian period when everything was designed with beauty in-mind.
