Set of Six Sevres Wide Rim Soups with the Gold Monogram of King Louis Phillippe

About the Item

This is a rare set of six Sevres wide rim soup bowls with white ground having an elegant central gold monogram for King Louis Philippe. The gold monogram for King Louis Phillippe is surrounded by a gold foliate leaf wreath. Above the monogram is a gold crown. These were part of the Service de Bas to be used at King Louis Phillippe's royal estates. These were made for Chateau de St Cloud in 1846. Around the border of the soup bowls is a gold leaf and arabesque decoration. These wide rim soup bowls are 9.5 inches in diameter. They would be perfect for soup, stew, a rice dish, a pasta dish, salad or dessert. It is rare to find a set of six of these Sevres bowls. They would be a perfect addition to your table setting.     Wear consistent with age and use. These bowls are in good antique condition. There is only a tiny bottom edge of 1/4 inch of gold wear on one bowl, which is not visible from the top of the bowl.
