19th C. German Stag Horn Thermometer and Barometer
About the Item
A remarkable German Folk Art Weather Station in the Black Forest Style. Elaborate and sinuous construction with stag horns of various sizes, boar tusk and Ram’s horn accents. The top thermometer and lower barometer with carved antler end-cut roundels with stag and doe images. Boar tusks frame both.
Measures: Height 46", Width 20", Depth 7", Diameter barometer 6 1/2"
Condition: With antler losses, some tusks cracked or broken with losses, one top tusk missing, a few chips to some roundels, some dust inside the barometer (Please see all detail photos) however the Thermometer retains an exceptional presentation.
