Early Danish Double Sided Neon Bakery Sign
About the Item
When we first found this neon sign our restorer was excited to work on it. He believes that the sign was a handmade and one-off being produced by a skilled metal fabricator. It was most likely used outside a small shop in Denmark. This is a traditional sign used for a Danish Bakery. The quality of construction is amazing including a tapered crown and heavy materials. It would never have been a production run. The restoration was though out and done correctly for an early 20th century sign. A heavy and costly old style colored glass was used in the pretzel and the spacers are period originals. We also replaced the transformers so that the sign would be silent and lighter. The body of the sign was not touched and the beautiful gold washed patina is a real highlight. This is a perfect example for the advanced collector. On display at our 115 N Water St Showroom in Peekskill NY.
