Vintage Mr. Peanut Promotional Outfit Costume

If you ever wanted to be Mr. Peanut, here is your chance. This authentic piece of vintage advertising is in excellent condition and would make a great display piece for a Mr. Peanut collection. Once used as a promotional costume, this mascot outfit would be worn for store events, fairs, parades and other public events. The person wearing this full size adult outfit would stroll along handing out tickets for free samples as well as small peanut packages, depending on the event. This is an authentic Mr. Peanut promotional costume made of a heavy plastic vinyl material. It comes in two pieces, the hat and the peanut body. The top hat has gold embossed letters across the front that read Mr. Peanut. The top of the hat is vented and has a round opening that still retains the original wire mesh. The peanut body has the iconic monocle face and the embossed peanut shell details like a real peanut. The body is in remarkable condition and still has its original glossy shine. The top is open and has two metal clips inside, used to attach the large top hat to the costume. The eyes and mouth areas are cut out and open and also retain the original wire mesh. There are round openings on both side for the ears and around the back for ventilation. Again, these all have the mesh covering the openings. The large cutouts for the arms have foam around the top, where the costume rest on your shoulders. This piece has been in a private collection of advertising memorabilia for almost 20 years. As mentioned the condition is excellent considering its use and age. There are a few minor marks, scratches and scuffs, which is to be expected. See the photos for more details.
