Large Dogon Ladder, Mali Wood Early to mid-20th century Measures: 100 x 17 x 8 in. / 254 x 43 x 20 cm Mounted on a custom display stand that measures 18 x 18 in. / 46 x 46 cm With a smooth yet eroded patina, this ladder was likely originally used indoors. Carved from a naturally forked tree, indoor versions wear to a smooth glossy finish while outdoor versions develop a deeply weathered patina.
