Fine Kuba wood cup with incised textile designs, early 20th century, from Central Africa.
The woven cris cross designs that are typical of the Kuba currency cloths is used here to decorate the panels of the cup in finely incised carvings.
It is in good condition with a deep patina and polish from traditional use, appropriate for its age, use, and medium. Scuffs and nicks here and there.
