20th Century Italian Baroque Giltwood Two-Tier 12-Arm Florentine Chandelier
About the Item
This beautiful elegant chandelier was made in Florence Italy in the early 20th century circa 1910. It features a central turned wooden column decorated with cast acanthus leaves. The chandelier has two tiers with each 6 scrolled arms ending in bobeches fitted with candles. The chandelier was completely silver leaf gilt over a dark brown bole layer. The silver leaf has a gold appearance because of the yellow and brown patina that was used to finish the silver leaf. The chandelier was gently cleaned in our atelier. The wiring and light fixtures as well as the cardboard candles were renewed and can be used both for the USA and European Electric networks. The chandelier is clean, solid, and ready for use.
