French Turn-of-the-century Louis XVI St. Ormolu, Crystal and Glass Chandelier
About the Item
A beautiful and unique French Turn-of-the-Century Louis XVI st. ormolu, crystal and frosted glass chandelier. The eight arm chandelier is centered by a beautiful richly chased bottom acorn finial below a most decorative frosted glass pane framed within a fine wrap around mottled border. The central tier displays a lovely pierced design with faceted cut crystal pendants and fine amethyst colored crystal from where the four pairs of arms branch out. Each arm displays an elegantly scrolled design adorned with acanthus leaves and leading to lightly curved foliate bobeches adorned with prism shaped cut crystal pendants and mottled candle cups. Beautiful pierced foliate chains lead upwards to the striking acanthus leaf designed top crown.
