About the Item

Juskani Alonso studied at the Industrial Design Research Center of the National Autonomous University of Mexico [CIDI-UNAM] and at the Polytechnic of Torino, Italy. As an industrial designer he has collaborated with companies and studios such as Tupperware Brands, Kikkerland, Thierry Jeannot, Pekka-Harni, Grupo Eco, Tane, Taller Luum, among others. His pieces have been part of exhibitions inside and outside the country, at fairs such as Design Week México, Abierto Mexicano de Diseño, Brera Design District (Milan), Casa Brasil (Bento Gonçalves), Wanted Design (New York) and UNESCO World Wide Things Collection (Graz) and the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC), within the exhibition “A handmade modernity”. In 2019, he was selected by the Italian magazine Interni Magazine as one of the “Young Designers to watch”. In 2021 he obtained the Young Creators Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture through the System of Support for Creation and Cultural Projects (SACPC). Founded in 2014 by Montserrat Castañón, Ángulo Cero was born as a space to think about design from an artistic perspective. Its curatorial approach inclines towards the experimentation of materials and formal languages, commissioning collections for a sophisticated market inside and outside of Mexico.
