19th C Italian Pair of Baroque Style Silver 2-Light Wall Sconces, Wired for US

About the Item

An Italian pair of Baroque style silver plated, two-light wall sconces from the 19th century. These antique wall lights from Italy each feature shapely back-plates in the elaborate Baroque design and swirling movement of stylized shells and foliate motif. From the lower section of the backplate, a swagged pair of arms emerge outward, each terminating into cup style bobèches with a candle sleeve at their center. The silver is beautifully tarnished with patina throughout. The light fixtures have been rewired for the US. These 19th century Italian sconces will be beautiful way to introduce some Baroque style and ambient lighting to a room.

This antique pair of sconces from France have been fashioned from 19th century brass/metal fixtures consisting of elaborately designed metal plaques, metal backplates, and a three-arm light fixture in leaf motif with metal flower petal wrapped bobèches, which have been mounted on 20th century wooden plaques.
