20th Century Robert Mathieu Directionable Wall Lamp in Brass and Fabric, 60s

About the Item

Born in 1921 and trained as a bronze turner at the École Boulle School of Applied Arts, Robert Mathieu created some of the most exceptional lighting of his generation. Robert Mathieu, thanks to his double pendulum systems and his infinite creativity and perfect technical expertise, designed articulated lamps to illuminate every area of the modern apartment and manipulating the concept of asymmetry and counterweight. Here we have a peculiar and unique wall lamp with adjustable length (maximum 192 cm) and directionable diffuser designed by Robert Mathieu in 60s. It could be hung in every context and room, from living room, bedroom or in the office, for a great experience interacting with light and shape. Good condition, fully original, ready to be shipped. The light can be rewired for US standards upon request.
