Rare Robert Mathieu Pierre Guariche French Table Wall Lamp Brass Yellow, 1950s
About the Item
Super rare midcentury table / wall lamp by Robert Mathieu and most probably in cooperation with Pierre Guariche, designed and manufactured in France, circa 1950s. A yellow enameled aluminum metal shade with integrated switch and brass bajonet fixture for one 40 wattage bajonet bulb combined with a patinated brass stand with two ball joints which allows the lamp to adjust in various positions, and additional a brass ring which allows to use this lamp as wall lamp. The design language of this rare and authentic piece speaks for itself. The used brass ball joints are typical for Robert Mathieu and the used shape of the shade can been seen by the documented design icon the
"Equilibrium" lamp by Pierre Guariche. This table lamp stays in good original vintage condition, some loss of enamel with rust points to the shade, authentic and not restored! With no later alterations. The wiring has been replaced so it is fine working and ready to use. It is 31 to 40 cm / 12.20 to 15.75 inches tall depending of the shade position, and it has a base which is 21 cm / 8.27 inches wide and 19 cm / 7.48 inches deep. One bulb will be provided as a one time courtesy.
