Beautiful Pair of Large Italian Mid-Century Electric Wall Sconces or Tole Lamp

About the Item

A beautiful pair of impressive large Italian wall sconces that were made in the late 1950s. These three-tier tole lamps were made in elegantly shaped steel and decorated with hammered acanthus leaves. The symmetrical sconces feature each six scrolled arms ending in candles with wooden hand-carved bobeches with an acanthus motif. The sconces have a deep red base color and the acanthus motif is silvered using a silver leaf that was polished. The whole piece was gently aged by applying patina to it. The wiring, the fittings, and the cardboard candles are all new and therefore in mint condition. The wiring is suitable for US and for EU electric networks. The fixtures can be fitted with E14 bulbs. The sconces are both clean, solid and ready for use.
