About the Item
An elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Ormolu sconces. Each beautiful sconce is after a model by Pierre Gouthière and displays scrolled arms showcasing berried foliate designs and are adorned with richly chased hanging tassels tied off by flowing ribbons. The four electrified arms emerge from a centrally placed Lyre shaped pierced reserve with a mask atop. Extending upwards from the mask is a reeded designed vertical mount with a central reserve of floral decorations and a bowed flowing ribbon at its top.
