Pair of Bronze Art Deco Skyscraper Lamps, Antique and Highly Rare

About the Item

Dramatic, beautifully finished and finely detailed, this very rare pair of bronze lamp bases depict skyscraper buildings, each featuring multiple setbacks in the Classic Art Deco manner, all rising above a multi-staged plinth with cascades of steps descending below. Perhaps sculpted and cast to commemorate a structure that was proposed in the 1930s, this pair survives as a unique testament to the soaring ambition and fine craftsmanship of another era. Possibly Canadian in origin. (Height dimension includes bronze finial).
