Pair Of French Late 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Ormolu & White Carrara Marble
About the Item
An elegant and most stunning pair of French late 19th century Neo-Classical st. Ormolu and white Carrara marble lamps. Each impressive lamp is raised on an Ormolu support with recessed corners and a mottled edge with a burnished finish. Above the Ormolu base is a circular twisted Ormolu beaded band which surrounds the base of the white Carrara marble urns. The base of the urn has a mottled edge with an Ormolu beaded band and a hanging acanthus leaf design above. Exquisite pierced and berried foliate Ormolu designs encase the elegantly shaped white Carrara marble body with curving reeded double handles at each side. The handles are connected by charming swaging blooming flower garlands. The beautiful curved neck displays a delicate wrap around laurel band and a dentil designed rim above. The top of the urn has a decorated foliate band beneath a draping acanthus leaf.
