Fine Antique Convex Mirror with Eagle Crest
About the Item
Carved and gilt with a fine three- dimensional eagle crest holding a ball on a chain in its beak. It stands on a pedestal In an energetic pose with one wing up and one tucked under. and is flanked by acanthus scrolls. The mirror with a triple carved and gilt surround. The outer one with carved bindings, and two inner beaded bands. The center is an ebonized band. The carved and gilt leafy terminal with artichoke center.
Measures: Height. 42". Diameter. 22 3/4"
Condition: Please see all detail photos. There is wear to the gilt on the outer surround and terminal, some stable age-related cracks on the entire surround, wear on the back however the presentation is stately and fine.
