About the Item
Magnificent hand-carved 18th century French Trumeau mirror. Original painted surround in crème color.
Beautiful giltwood mirror found in a large chateau from the Provence region of France. Elaborate grape/grapevine carvings traverse both top and sides of mirror. Traditional shell carving at the center.
Original water gilding in very good condition, consistent with age and normal use. Mirrored glass has been professionally replaced with distressed plate glass mirror.
