A stunning Belle Époque period (1871-1914) hand carved and painted antique, circa 1890, French trumeau mirror. Born in France around the turn of the late 19th / early 20th century, beautifully hand-crafted in elegantly refined and luxurious Louis XVI taste, having a tall rectangular giltwood frame with ornate sculptural Neoclassical foliate wrapped urn crest, over artist signed (illegible/unknown) oil on board painting depicting serene pastoral landscape, molded frame with floral motif and scroll flourish accents, beaded trim, encasing original flat mirror plate, with sturdy boarded verso. Dimensions: (approx) 56" High, 29" Wide, 4" Depth; 30lbs Versatile: As warm and attractive as it is functional, having the ideal large size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a floor mirror in the bedroom, wall hanging mounted on a narrow pier flanked by windows, or as a statement piece mounted over entry table console or atop fireplace mantel.
