Large Louis XVI-Style Giltwood mirror With mask of Minerva, 19 th c.
About the Item
A mask of Minerva is centered at the crest of this monumental mirror.
En chapeau cornice continues with bell flower garlands and foliate carving, gently scrolling curved framing decorates the sides. The mirror has a second interior frame cushioning the inner mirror.
Scrolls Over the mirror plate are reticulated and terminate in scrolls of acanthus and bellflowers. The mirror plate is is clear and without
Any clouding. A leaf and berry design surrounds the interior mirror.
The lower corners have more curve designs with bellflowers.
The gilding is original and has a warm but bright patina
Large impressive presentation with exquisite quality.
