French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Giltwood Upholstered Headboard
About the Item
An impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood upholstered headboard. The headboard fits a king size bed and displays upholstered legs leading up to finely carved giltwood foliate rosettes and a mottled frame with a twisted design, foliate border and a fine etched design. Above is a striking central reserve of a handsome noble man amidst a seashell, swaging berried laurel garlands and a beautiful tied bow. At each side are finely detailed and charming animal heads with foliate patterns. All original gilt throughout.
