About the Item
A catalogue of engraved views, plans, etc., Of New York City, (The Collection of Percy R. Pyne II). Privately Printed by The De Vinne Press, New York, 1912. Limited to 100 copies. Grey cloth boards with gilt stamping to spine and front cover, deckled edged pages, Italian Fabriano paper. Percy Pyne II was a famous collector of depictions of New York. His collection of prints were sold at auction in the early part of the 20th century. Catalogued by Robert Fridenberg, the entries in this book date as far back as the 17th c and contain a complete physical description along with annotations. 19 full page engravings, each with tissue protection, including the hand-colored frontis of NY Harbor in 1790. Each engraving is in fine state and perfectly preserved. This book is rare, especially in this condition.
