19th Century French Louis XVI Aubusson Ladies Purse with Brass Strap and Lock

About the Item

This elegant ladies purse was handwoven in France, circa 1860. The small, antique purse is handmade using colorful Aubusson tapestry. The tapestry features two different scenes. On one side of the purse, there is a young gentleman playing the flute at the base of the tree. On the other side is a landscape scene with a castle, bridge and pond. The purse has a brass shoulder strap and brass mechanism with the traditional Louis XVI ribbon bow. Also included is the original make up mirror in its original envelope. Overall, the handbag is in excellent condition with rich colors in a neutral, beige palette. Measures: 7.5" W x 7.5" D.
