1920s Carl Zeiss Brass Antique Theodolite Surveyor's Measurement Instrument
About the Item
Theodolite by Carl Zeiss Jena D.R.G.M. 1920s, light gray and black painted brass, internal horizontal and vertical circle with microscope readings, rack and pinion focusing. Very good condition, some signs of use and fully functional. Measures: Height 30 cm - 11.8 inches, telescope length 23.5 cm - 9.25 inches, base diameter 14 cm - 5.5 inches.
With a law on June 1st, 1891, the German imperial patent office introduced the "Deutsche Reichs-Gebrauchsmuster". Numerous products were labeled "D.R.G.M." between 1891 and about 1945, often with the addition of the sample number; after the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany, the abbreviation used became "D.B.G.M." (Deutsches Bundes-Gebrauchsmuster).
