Circa 1800 Swedish Gustavian Mahogany Barometer by Iohannes Lerra
About the Item
A highly decorative Swedish Gustavian barometer dating from the 1800s by Iohannes Lerra.
The dial sits centrally in a mahogany wood frame with applied gilded scrolled leaf decoration to the four corners.
The thermometer tube has delightful gilded cornucopias at either side.
There is some wear due to its age and use. The function of the barometer has not been tested but it is a lovely period decorative addition to the home.
