English 19th Century Painted Wood Box Mounted on a Newer Custom Stand

About the Item

An English wooden box from the 19th century, mounted on a newer custom stand. Created in England during the 19th century, this brown wooden box features a rectangular lid with painted cartouche, opening to reveal a convenient storage space. Flanked with lateral handles, the box is mounted on a custom base made of four legs connected to one another through an H-form cross stretcher. With its clean lines and nicely weathered patina, this 19th century English box on custom stand will bring a touch of simple authenticity to any home, particularly placed in a living room.
