A Very Rare 19th Century Anglo Indian Travelling Trunk

About the Item

A very rare 19th Century Anglo Indian teak travelling trunk, finely hand carved beautifully accented with brass details throughout. The well figured, moulded and brass bound top of rectangular form with two latches which open upwards to reveal a fitted section with a fabulous array of storage compartments decoratively carved with rosettes and scroll motifs. This central compartment can be removed to give access to a larger full trunk storage section below. The trunk body is stunningly adorned to the central reserve with intricate brass foliate and bead mounted detail, flanked with lateral loop carrying handles, terminating on elongated bracket feet.
