Antique Karabagh Runner, circa 1900s

About the Item

This is an antique Karabagh runner from the Caucasus area, circa 1900s. It features four large diamond medallions aligning through the centre, inset with floral designs that connect together through a latticework of vines. The palette of the carpet is quite vibrant with a nice red wine color, pistachio greens, browns, ivory, yellows and light pinks. Framing the field are thin borders which allow for inside design to take centre stage.
