This is an antique Khotan rug from East Turkistan, circa 1870s. It features three prominent large circular medallions each stylized in a different design set against a beautiful soft lavender field and framed by multiple borders of cloud designs. The muted, earthly, understated color palette in this rug soft browns, yellows and coral, convey a sense of tranquillity and natural arrangement.
