The Expidition Mid-Century Modern Polish Wool Rug

About the Item

Broste, Denmark is known as one of Scandinavia's leading interior brands importing luxury items from all over the world. Founded in 1955. This Polish flatweave rug or tapestry was imported by Broste. Wyprawa translates as expedition for military, scientific or tourism purposes. The title fits perfectly for the designer and weaver's vision with a colorfully clad horse and a majestic rider with scepter and shield. The Polish designer's and weaver's names are prominently displayed on tag. Bright and gorgeous highly saturated colors and, most likely, naturally dyed wool. Circa 1970-73. Good overall condition with all its original tags as it was never displayed in the original home. Stored away lovingly. The fringe is intact. No visible staining or damage. No real visible signs of wear. Four staples affix the fabric Broste label. Approximately 31.5" wide x 29".
