About the Item
Pair of French armchairs with backrest "for the queen" in carved and polychrome white wood, Louis XVI period, 18th century.
Extraordinary and unique Pair of French armchairs with "queen" backrest in carved and polychrome white wood, Directory style, PP. 20th century.
Very special in their shape and large size, they are truly exquisite and refined!!!
With a classic and timeless style, these armchairs can be placed in both living rooms and bedrooms.
Comfortable and sophisticated elegance
Without armrests
The front legs are perfectly straight and sculpted, the 2 rear ones are curved, what is known as saber, to give the seat all its style. .
The backrest is rolled, characteristic of the Directoire style, with a large daisy carved in the center.
The wood is carved, with geometric motifs typical of the Directoire style.
Galloned legs.
Newly upholstered with a beautiful fabric from Pierre Frey, France in light greens and soft orange.

The Directoire style is a style of furniture and decoration in vogue from 1795 to 1803. Marking the transition between the Louis XVI and Empire styles, it is characterized by a sober workmanship and simple shapes.
