Important Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Huang Huali Armchairs

About the Item

A rare pair of late 18th century Chinese Huang Huali armchairs with yoke backs terminating in scrolls and supported by splats and columns, centered around a traditional paneled seat with cabriole legs carved with dragons at the knee and terminating in ball and claw feet. Throughout the fine carving is a fusion of English and Chinese motifs. Measures: Back height 36 inches Seat height 18 inches Width 31 inches China, circa 1780.
