Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Longyanmu Side Tables

About the Item

A rare pair of 18th century Chinese longyanmu hardwood side tables, the panel tops above recessed friezes and shaped aprons, raised on square straight legs ending in shaped block feet and joined by arched stretchers. Furniture constructed from longyanmu, or 'tiger-skin wood', is believed to have originated in Fujian Province and is particularly distinctive for its striped grain. Examples of longyanmu furniture are rare. Measures: Width 98cm Height 87cm Depth 50cm.
