George Nakashima Bench
About the Item
This bench is made up of two of the smaller radiator covers, placed back-to-back, and joined by two rosewood butterfly joints. The butterflies, which are new, were put in by a cabinetmaker friend of mine who is an avid Nakashima enthusiast. He jumped at the opportunity to help "re-purpose" two older Nakashima pieces, using joinery in the style of the master. Besides the two butterflies, everything else is completely original and genuine. This piece is quite beautiful "in person".
