Pair of French 19th Century Louis XV Style Giltwood Bergères À Oreilles
About the Item
A handsome pair of French mid 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood "Bergères à Oreilles". The pair are raised by four circular fluted tapered legs below a recessed block panel. The frieze, wings and back are all decorated by a richly carved coeur de rai design while the 'S' scrolled arms have wonderfully carved acanthus leaves. The pair are upholstered in a shagreen designed off-white and gold fabric. Wonderfully elegant and extremely comfortable.
