18th Century Oak Wainscot Chair

About the Item

A real antique, this 18th century rustic wainscot chair has a carved shaped top rail above a panelled back, with turned front legs, square section back legs and carved arm supports. These early chairs were named after the fine grade of oak used for wainscot panelling at the time. This is a great piece, with a comfortable wide seat, which will look wonderful in a period home, or as a statement piece in a hall or entrance space.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some gouges and age related wear, there are signs of previous treated woodworm authentic to it's rustic nature and early date. Overall the item is structurally stable.
